Trainee GPR & Trimble Geo7 Technician - New Plymouth

Drillco Limited is a leading specialist company in the field of underground cable locating. We provide comprehensive location service for telecommunications plant, power, gas, water and private cable networks nationwide.

Due to growth and opportunities to further expand our business, we currently have an opportunity for a Trainee GPR Technician and GNSS Technician to join our great team in New Plymouth.

About the role:
The primary purpose of this role will be:
The capture of our client?s underground assets on our GNSS software Pathfinder Office and dealing with various internal and external inquiries.
Visiting sites to GPS survey the location of recently laid Gas mains.
Surveying experience would be an advantage but training will be available for the right candidate.
Updating other asset systems as required.
Eventually will be about to create as-builts for the council and other utilities.
About you:
Microsoft Word and Excel is essential along with the ability to work efficiently, with good attention to detail and accuracy. Interpersonal and time management skills are an integral part of this role also.
You will need to be able to demonstrate self-motivation, initiative, be organised with a reliable approach to work. You will also possess excellent communication, verbal, written and numerate skills, together with the ability to work at all times in line with our values of Excellence, Integrity and Respect. A proactive approach to Health and Safety is essential, along with a full NZ driving licence.
There may be sponsorship available for the right candidate to undertake a recognised qualification in GIS.
